Yesterday, God blessed FBC of Del Rio, TX, with 6 men that we ordained into the ministry of deaconship. Deacon’s have been a part of the church ministry and growth since the early days. As a pastor, I can honestly say that I am grateful and glad to have others come alongside me and serve this church and it’s community.
In Acts 6:1-7, we are given the proper protocol of how deacons are to be considered or selected. The chosen are to be full of God’s Holy Spirit. You see with the Holy Spirit already at work in the deacon candidate you can be assured that you can count on these to serve. The purpose for deacons are to help spread the Gospel throughout the community, according to Acts 6:7.
Lone ranger ministry is not a Biblical approach. Shared ministry is the Biblical approach.
