As believers in Christ, we forget sometimes about the greatest promise given to us. It is the gift of conquering love. God promises in Romans 8:31-39, nothing will ever, no never, not ever separate us from His conquering love. That is an incredible gift.
4 meanings of love:
- Eros love—meaning erotic, this is the romantic love that exists between a man and a woman, preferably married.
- Phileo love—this is the love that is referred to as a brotherly love, as in a deep friendship. The city of Philadelphia is known as the city of brotherly love because of the name being rooted in the Greek word Philos.
- Agape love—which is known as the unconditional love God has toward us. God places no conditions for His love to be poured out on us.
- Storge love—meaning an affection toward others as in a parent/child relationship.
God loves us with an Agape love, no conditions.
The next time you feel that God has left you alone and in the dark, read Romans 8, and be reminded of His unending Agape love.
